Storage Moving in Parma — How It Works
CLE Junk Removal & Movers provides the labor and logistics to handle loading items into a storage unit and retrieving items when you're ready, charged at our standard moving hourly rates. We do NOT operate our own storage warehouse — instead, you choose your preferred storage facility and pay the facility directly for the unit rental.
This setup gives you three advantages: you control which facility you use (climate-controlled vs. standard, drive-up vs. indoor, location and price point), you pay the storage facility directly so there's no markup or middleman, and you get our experienced moving crew handling the actual heavy work — loading items into the unit Tetris-style so you maximize space and protect your belongings.
We serve all of Parma (ZIPs 44129, 44130, 44134) and Greater Cleveland. Storage moves are available standalone (just load items into storage without a regular move) or bundled with our moving service (load some items into storage, move others to your new place — all in one project).
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you operate your own storage facility?
No — we provide the labor and logistics for storage moves, but you choose and rent the storage unit directly from a storage facility of your choice. This means you control which facility you use, you pay the facility directly with no middleman markup, and you have the same access privileges any storage customer would have. See our recommended Parma-area storage facilities below.
How much does the storage move itself cost?
CLE's storage moving service uses the standard moving rates: $190 per hour for two movers with a truck or $240 per hour for three movers with a truck, plus a $50-per-mover travel fee and a two-hour minimum. A one-bedroom planning range is $670–$860; a two-bedroom planning range is $860–$1,240. Final time depends on inventory, access, distance, and facility rules; retrieval is scheduled and billed separately at the same rates.
How do I know what size storage unit to rent?
Rough guidance: a 5×5 unit holds about half a small bedroom; 5×10 holds a 1-bedroom apartment; 10×10 holds a 2-bedroom; 10×15–10×20 holds a 3-bedroom home. During our walkthrough, we'll give you a specific unit size recommendation based on your inventory. Most storage facilities also have unit size guides on their websites.
Can you load my items into a storage unit at any Parma storage facility?
Yes. We work with all of the major Parma-area storage facilities. Just tell us which facility and unit number when you book, and we'll handle the rest.
How long is the gap between dropping items in storage and picking them back up?
Whatever you need. We've handled storage moves with gaps as short as 3–5 days (move-in delays where the new place wasn't quite ready) and as long as 6+ months (renovations, downsizing decisions). The storage facility handles the rental term directly; you just call us when you're ready for the retrieval.
Can you handle moves where some items go to storage and others go straight to my new home?
Yes — multi-stop storage moves are common. We can pick up at your origin, drop some items at your storage unit, then continue to your new home with the rest. This is billed as one project at the hourly rate (with the additional drive time included in the hours).
Do you provide moving boxes and packing materials for storage moves?
We offer the same packing materials as our regular moving service. For storage moves specifically, we recommend wardrobe boxes for hanging clothes, mattress bags to protect mattresses from dust, and dish pack boxes for kitchens. Materials are available at additional cost — you can also supply your own.
Are there items I shouldn't put in a self-storage unit?
Yes — most storage facilities prohibit hazardous materials (paint, gas, propane), perishable foods, live plants, and live animals. Climate-controlled units are recommended for electronics, leather furniture, wood furniture, photos, documents, and anything with sentimental value. We'll flag any items that might be a problem during the walkthrough.
