Aurora, Ohio Cleanout, Bulk Pickup & Moving Guide
An Aurora cleanout starts with three decisions: what stays, what travels to another address and what is authorized for disposal. This guide is for Aurora, Ohio, in Portage County—not another city named Aurora. Use the official resources below for public-program eligibility and CLE's service pages for a separately quoted move or cleanout.
Call (216) 673-0678 or book a free on-site estimate. CLE serves Aurora from Parma; there is no separate Aurora office. Online booking is available after hours. An estimate appointment is not a reservation for paid moving or hauling work.
First compare public pickup with private hauling
Aurora identifies Rumpke as its designated residential trash provider. The city trash page explains service levels and how bulk items are handled. Ask Rumpke about your address, item, preparation and any additional charge rather than assuming all bulky items are free. CLE project hauling does not replace required recurring residential collection.
Aurora junk removal is useful when you need indoor carrying, a larger accepted load or a scoped appointment. You approve the items and price before work. For a sofa replacement, list the old couch, its floor and narrow turns for furniture removal. Include the frame, mattress, box spring and powered base separately when requesting bed and mattress removal.
Check the brush program before placing material at the road
Aurora's brush collection program has seasonal dates and eligibility limits. Its page excludes private developments, condos, apartments and commercial properties; hired contractors must dispose of their own brush. Check current instructions before setting a pile out. Neither booking CLE nor living near a participating street makes a load eligible.
For paid yard-debris hauling, CLE can gather ordinary loose branches and debris without requiring you to pile or bag it first. Identify heavy logs, soil, stone and root balls separately. Tree cutting, stump grinding and landscaping are not included in standard debris pickup. City parks and mulch locations are not unrestricted dumping sites.
Plan rooms and property contents together
A garage and basement cleanout should include every room and storage corner in the walkthrough. Mark tools and family belongings to keep. Show the crew stairs, low ceilings and attached fixtures before the scope is agreed.
For estate cleanouts, designate an authorized decision-maker and secure records and keepsakes. For rental-property cleanouts, establish lawful authority to remove contents before arranging hauling. CLE does not decide ownership, tenant rights or abandonment.
Heavy-clutter removal can be assessed in stages. Discuss priority rooms, consent and hazards without assuming everything should be discarded. Standard finishing is sweeping, not deep cleaning, pest control, mold remediation or biohazard treatment.
Keep utilities, electronics and demolition separate
Appliance hauling does not automatically include gas, plumbing or electrical disconnection. Arrange appropriate qualified preparation. Refrigerant-containing equipment needs an acceptance and recovery review before pickup.
For electronics removal, list devices and batteries, back up data and arrange wiping or specialist destruction separately. Aurora's recycling page links to hard-to-recycle resources. Confirm current acceptance before a trip; public resources are not a promise that a commercial hauling load is accepted.
Construction debris needs a material and weight assessment. Keep unknown containers and suspected hazardous materials out of ordinary loads. A hot tub or shed needs dismantling and access review, not just a truckload estimate. For light demolition, agree whether bases stay and who handles approvals. Aurora's Building Division says general and subcontractors must register before a permit is issued. Required approvals and safe utilities must be resolved before work.
Organize both ends of an Aurora move
Aurora movers need the pickup and destination addresses, not just a bedroom count. For house and condo moves, confirm keys, parking and the route into each room. For apartments, ask management about elevators, permitted hours and loading areas. Address-specific requirements matter more than assumptions about an entire neighborhood.
Packing help and furniture assembly are separately priced tasks. Keep valuables, medicines and daily essentials with you. Pianos and specialty items require a review of weight, dimensions, stairs and the entire carrying route.
Storage-unit moving uses a unit you rent and manage yourself. Confirm gate hours, unit access and the destination for kept belongings. Moving plus junk removal lets you use one company while keeping the two scopes and prices clear. It does not imply a free disposal service or automatic discount.
For a business, separate assets to move from contents to remove. Retain control of records, data and leased equipment. For a purchase, furniture delivery requires seller permission, dimensions and confirmed room access.
Rates and a useful estimate request
Junk-removal jobs start at the $149 minimum. Volume anchors are $249 for a quarter truck, $399 for a half truck and $699 for a full truckload. The accepted contents, weight and access determine the confirmed quote; large cleanouts and demolition need their own scope review. A standard three-seat couch is $184 all-in for standard access; unusual weight or access needs review.
$190/hr two-mover crew, $260/hr three-mover, or $340/hr four-mover crew and truck, plus a one-time $50-per-mover travel fee, 2-hour minimum.
$80/hr per packer, plus a one-time $50-per-packer travel fee, 2-hour minimum; materials additional when supplied. Furniture assembly and labor-only help also cost $80 per worker-hour, with a two-hour minimum and $50 travel per worker. Labor-only service does not include a truck or transport.
$300/hr for a three-mover specialty crew, plus a one-time $150 travel fee, 2-hour minimum; no separate item fees; exact quote required. The specialty minimum including travel is $750. $380 all-in minimum for a two-mover crew and up to 2 hours, with no travel fee.
Moving destinations are generally within 50 miles of CLE's Parma base; farther work depends on the project. Include both addresses, item photos, floors, gate or building rules and your preferred dates in the estimate request. Disclose contamination or unusual hazards before the visit. Same-day availability is confirmed with the team, not guaranteed by a fast response.
